Awesome product. If you hang your hammock correctly, and attach the UQ correctly, you will have very little gap at sides and the gap you do have closes when you push on that area from the inside. It is nice not having shock chords pushing against you all night and having your lower legs covered.

Fantastic UQ. Highly recommend. Perfect addition to the XLC. I modify everything but haven’t felt the need to modify this yet. I expected to need some modifications based on the 3 star review but I think the issue is how that user lays. I prefer head right and feet left but ordered standard lay and there was a gap. I lay standard and it disappears. It’s not a major issue to switch my lay style. I find that the habit was brought on by indoor configurations. I slept in a hammock for over 3 years anchored indoors and to see the TV, I had to lay head right, feet left. As long as you are aware of how you are supposed to lay to make the hammock fit in Wookie, there shouldnt be a gap. As for modifications, I expect to modify EVERYTHING backpacking related. Drill holes, cut down, etc. For hammock stuff, I always swap stuff around but I haven’t felt the need on anything from WB.

The Wookie XL zero degree I purchased May 2023. Works real well with the Elderado 11′ hammock. Already took it out on Elwha River in Washington state. Easy set up & instantly warm. Sleep in this hammock 95 % of the time. Will be using the Chinook sock in colder weather. I have a zero degree tall sleeping bag for the top. The excess I fold over for added warmth. Very pleased with the Wookie. Have used it also on 5 other hammocks. I use carabiners to lengthen where needed. With adjustment, it works great. No drafts, just warm. Definitely a 5 star rating. Will be looking at the “Scandinavian” fill Wookie next.

Compared to other underquilt designs, the Wooki has the best warmth to weight ratio. This is because of its efficient use of down on the diagonal. It is also a less fussy set-up than other designs, once I made modifications to it.
The modifications I made were sewing a couple of pairs of grosgrain loops on the edges, tying shock cord on one of each pair, and attaching a plastic hook on the shock cord loose end. This modification ensured that the Wookie hugged the hammock, elimination all gaps.

Update from last review.
After pulling the edges through the rubber band, cinching band tighter and rehanging my hammock to ensure proper angle I have reduced my modifications to two binder clips at my shoulder to snug it up a bit.
The gaps between the outside of the hammock and the interior of the UQ are minimal at this point although that was not the case when I first hung it.
It’s warm as mine is rated to 20° and was more than comfortable at 26° with some clothes and a 15° bag (bag has almost no insulation on the back and relies entirely on a pad for insulation underneath). Very conducive to laying flat. Materials are high quality and it is impressively light for the warmth provided.

I spent the 1st 9 days since my hammock arrived sleeping in it.
Was the best 9 nights of sleep of my adult life and the yeti I purchased performed better than expected AFTER I replaced the laughably short shock chord provided.
Nights started getting colder and I wanted more warmth on my legs so I ordered the custom Wookiee.
Long story short the wookie leaves gigantic gaps between the sides of my hammock and the quilt, like big enough that it feels like there’s no quilt there. I have remedied the solution with about 6 binder clips and some shock chord but not thrilled about that being a permanent solution.
Why not give it drawstring shockchord like the yeti? That seems to work well. In the yeti I was toasty warm down to 28 except the areas that weren’t covered, you should just make a long yeti instead.
I would have been better off to just buy a 2nd yeti and put one under my legs because this being typed at 430 am on my first night in the wookie and already kinda hate it.
I am going to make extensive modifications which I shouldn’t have to do on a new product to make it functional. I may also attempt to retie where it bunches or something idk.
3 stars because the materials are nice, closer to a 2 than a 4.
Really disappointing considering how well everything else has worked from Warbonnet.
