This book is a great foundation and resource for learning basic and advanced hammocking topics. It is an easy read without being overly verbose. The pictures do tell a thousand words. Well done.

I found this book pretty interesting. a lot of the info you in it can be obtained by research online but the thing is one tends to forget everything you read in the office or your home pc or wherever. The nice part about this is on those first few hangs it is great to have along and check up on that knot you have seen on youtube but cannot remember after your mind got infused with some fresh air. I would recommend this book for any newbie like me.

If you’ve talked to people about hammock camping, you might have experienced that one question leads to another. And you find yourself explaining the equivalent of individual pieces of a jigsaw puzzle when it is best to first see the full image.
Have a spare Ultimate Hang book – appropriately marked with “Guilt Nag” – i.e. Please return so other can enjoy this book too. – gives you one to lend. Then, after reading, if the person is still interested, it’s time to go into details.

Just got back from a kayak trip,to the Pacific coast and going my new treasures waiting for me. Have not had time to play with the binders, tarp and Blackbird yet but have read the book. Down time and rest were needed and reading took no additional effort. Finished the book in two sessions as sleep stepped in during the first read. I have marked several pages to review and practice once I begin to playa with the tarp and hammock. More later
