What is the Warbonnet Outdoors TarpTick?
A tarp tick is a slick piece of hardware that can be used for easy and convenient guyline adjustment on any component of your tarp suspension. Its versatile design makes suspending your gear much easier and quicker without tangles or knots in your guyline.
Made from Grade 5 titanium and weighing only 1 gram each, the TarpTicks won’t weight you down and they’ll make your tarp setup a breeze. The various internal holes and hooks of the tarp tick allow for use in several different configurations. It is easy to adjust, holds tight, and releases easily. This tiny solution saves you a big headache and can make a difference when you’re in the wilderness setting up your camp. They’re perfect for connecting your tarp’s main suspension lines to the tree but they work just as well for adjusting the lines going down to your tent stakes. Warbonnet Outdoors TarpTicks are a great addition to any tarp kit.

I’ve had these for a couple of months now, and use them for my tarp ridgeline and they are extremely easy to use, hold very well, and weigh almost nothing. They do feel kind of sharp so use caution with your tarp – however, I have not had any issues – Mainly concerned with catching on my mesh sleeve – but again it hasn’t happened yet – So I may be worried for nothing. I would buy these again in a heart beat.

They definitely make setup easier and they are ridiculously light, but the open end has such sharp points I am reluctant to store these anywhere near the tarp. The points are definitely sharp enough to poke holes in the thin side-poly.

Love em. Ordered two initially, and liked them so much, I bought four for my guy lines to replace parts I’d 3D printed. Between that and replacing guy lines with lash it cordage, I’ll be culling an ounce off my rainfly weight.

Just like everyone else has said, these are tremendously useful. They make setup a lot faster.
I have them on all ground stakes and the tarn guy line.
I once had to set up my tarp quickly in the rain (I already had my hammock up and didn’t think it was really going to downpour) and these were a life saver. $7 may seem like a lot to some, but they’re well worth it. Super light and super useful.
Use the just as described in the videos and you can’t go wrong.
Don’t hesitate, get them!

Great little add on to finish your tarp and make setup a breeze every time. Having tried other loops and bling these are by far the superior tarp and stake hook.

These tarp ticks sped up my tarp setup immeasurably. I used to becket hitch each stake for my superfly tarp (Great tarp!) and I was always taking way too long to setup especially when I had to go back to retension a line I had already tied. I also use them on the tarp ridge line to help me get a more taunt line and it is much quicker to setup and breakdown. After looking closely at them, they might be renamed to “magic lamps” because they look like it and made setting up my tarp magically faster.

These make setting up and adjusting your tarp a breeze. They work just as advertised. Just take note that you do need 2.5 mm or thinner guy lines, so common 3mm utility cord won’t thread through on these.

These things make setting up my tarp so easy. Well worth the money! I’ve got them on all of my groundhog stakes with 9” of guyline as shown in his tarp tick video.

Like many of you, I’m used to other titanium hardware . So when I saw these I had to have them. I was surprised on how super light and small these are. After just a short time with these, it became obvious that these can and do replace several hardware pieces into one lightweight package. These are very versatile micro champions for tarps and stakes. Where these really shine are from the larger diameter hook and the multiple holes for varied arrangements. In my opinion, I think these are well worth the money.
