The Diamondback Top Quilt series replaces our Mamba series. With the Mamba, we were one of the early adopters of vertical (head-to-toe) baffling. Simply put, vertical baffling allows the quilt to better conform to the contours of your body. But there was always a drawback with head-to-toe baffling…With such long baffles the down can more easily shift during the stuffing/unstuffing process requiring more effort from the user to fluff and distribute the down compared to other designs. Companies have dealt with this issue in different ways.
The Diamondback uses our unique Constriction-Point Baffle pattern that uses a series of constrictions in the baffle pattern to isolate both halves of the quilt. The baffle wall height remains the same, but the width of each baffle abruptly merges to a constriction point, effectively breaking a single 6-foot long baffle into two 3-foot baffles, resulting in one of the shortest effective baffle lengths in the industry. A shorter baffle means the down has less room to shift so it will take you less time to fluff and even out the down before each use. The down in the upper part of the quilt stays in the upper part and vice versa. Down can be manually forced through the constrictions but it will not pass through on it’s own, this means the distribution of down between the lower vs. upper chambers can be manipulated by the customer if desired. Since the upper and lower chambers are filled independently of each other, overfill can be installed into either the upper or lower chambers or split evenly between them.
Featuring:
-9 different size options. 50″, 55″, 60″ widths with Short, Regular and Long lengths. (all sizes have a 43″ foot end measurement)
-3 different fabric types (10d, 15d, 20d) in a variety of colors. As for the fabrics, the 10d fabric is our ultralight option, the 20d is the heaviest and offers the most durability and the 15d is a compromise between the two.
-2 fill types of RDS certified goose down (Premium 850 fill Hyper-Dry or Ultra Premium 950 Hyper-Dry)
-Custom overfill amounts available for those wanting extra down fill. (Available from the custom Diamondback page only)
-Available with a sewn footbox or with a zippered/drawstring footbox
-Proprietary Compound-Taper: slight weight reduction vs Half Taper by removing some material from the very extreme head end where it isn’t needed. This results in a very slight hourglass shape with the widest portion being the torso area (right where you need it)
-Neck-snap closure with elastic drawcord with dual exit points near your ears (keeps the cord out of your way)
-Included stuffsac (0.5oz-0.85 oz) and Mesh storage bag
-Included pad-attachment loops and kit. .53oz (15g)
-Included adjustable side elastics (elastic shockcord and cordlock on the quilt’s long sides to make sure it stays tucked)
-Made to order as well as in-stock options available.
-Made in the USA by Warbonnet

Just got my diamondback 20 degree in forest green and autumn orange, wide and long. Also received my Wookie underquilt. This will be my sleep system on my AT thru hike starting in a few weeks. I will be trying it out tomorrow night with my warbonnet blackbird XLC and am sure I will love it. The quality is superb. I have a few 15 degree bags from Nemo and marmot and can see right though the fabric in spots. Not so with the DB quilt. The down seems to stay where it is supposed to. The fit is perfect (although I would have opted for a larger foot box if they offered one. My size 13s fill the footbox abandoned don’t leave much room for down booties/socks in cold weather). This is my first quilt, but I can’t imagine wanting anything anything more. Well done Warbonnet! My entire sleep and shelter system is now warbonnet and I could not be happier.

Just received my 20°+2 oz overstuff. Super light and warm. Slept with it the last couple nights paired with my 20°+2oz lynx full length only got down to high 30s and I was way to warm. Can’t wait for hunting season to test the temp rating. Can’t go wrong with warbonnet

I ordered the 10 degree version. Or rather, a blemished 10 degree with side elastics and it is fantastic. Combining it with the wookie in my wbbb on a cold winter has been pure bliss. It’s light, it’s warm, it packs up nice and tight. My cat loves it too, which is unfortunate because my cat isn’t declawed. What is fortunate is that the material put up with his abuse , at least until I put a stop to his claw-sharpening and threw him out of the hammock. Yes, I do go camping with my cat. No, it is a perfectly normal thing for me to do, especially when it is in my own yard. Please stop judging me, I love my felines and I will not tolerate your unspoken abjudications! They don’t snore, they won’t betray you, argue about politics or threaten to stab you in the middle of the night…
Anyway, the quilt is great. I was wondering where the blemish was so I sent an email. Even after Brandon pointed it out, I could hardly see it. So if their “defects” are top-notch, just imagine how much greater the unblemished product will be. Definitely worth the purchase.

Just a quick THANK YOU! Did a section of the AT last week with my new quilt……ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I own quilts from two other manufacturers and there is no comparison. Those side elastic straps are amazing. Also, I never had to work the down into the correct spots, it stayed where I wanted it. I’m ultralight at a 6 lb baseweight with my Zpacks Nero and their Plexamid, my Thermarest NeoAir. The********* was on my radar before I discovered Warbonnet, and am so glad I did! You have an excellent quilt in the Diamondback and I’m extremely happy that I purchased it. My son’s Diamondback just got delivered a few days ago! Thanks again!

I ordered a custom diamondback with some of the optional features in a long size, and I love it! Couldn’t be happier with the design, warmth, and colors. Well done again, WB!

Got my 20° DB with sewn footbox in Autumn Orange (15d). This is my new favorite design! I love the footbox. It’s pretty impressive how the seams that are usually behind the calves are completely hidden with no sewn thru seams. The gusset right behind the knees is well done too and placed perfectly just shy of the knees. If I turn the quilt inside out, it looks virtually the same! It looks like it was built to last and look amazing at the same time . Definitely another classic WB product with all the usual clever design choices.
