**Note: We cannot edit custom quilt orders after they have been placed. Cancelled or Returned orders will be subject to a 20% restocking fee**The Diamondback Top Quilt series replaces our Mamba series. With the Mamba, we were one of the early adopters of vertical (head-to-toe) baffling. Simply put, vertical baffling allows the quilt to better conform to the contours of your body. But there was always a drawback with head-to-toe baffling…With such long baffles the down can more easily shift during the stuffing/unstuffing process requiring more effort from the user to fluff and distribute the down compared to other designs. Companies have dealt with this issue in different ways.
The Diamondback uses our unique Constriction-Point Baffle pattern that uses a series of constrictions in the baffle pattern to isolate both halves of the quilt. The baffle wall height remains the same, but the width of each baffle abruptly merges to a constriction point, effectively breaking a single 6-foot long baffle into two 3-foot baffles, resulting in one of the shortest effective baffle lengths in the industry. A shorter baffle means the down has less room to shift so it will take you less time to fluff and even out the down before each use. The down in the upper part of the quilt stays in the upper part and vice versa. Down can be manually forced through the constrictions but it will not pass through on it’s own, this means the distribution of down between the lower vs. upper chambers can be manipulated by the customer if desired. Since the upper and lower chambers are filled independently of each other, overfill can be installed into either the upper or lower chambers or split evenly between them.
Featuring:
-9 different size options. 50″, 55″, 60″ widths with Short, Regular and Long lengths (all sizes have a 43″ foot end measurement)
-3 different fabric types (10d, 15d, 20d) in a variety of colors. As for the fabrics, the 10d fabric is our ultralight option, the 20d is the heaviest and offers the most durability and the 15d is a compromise between the two.
-2 fill types of RDS certified goose down (Premium 850 fill Hyper-Dry or Ultra Premium 950 Hyper-Dry)
-Custom overfill amounts available for those wanting extra down fill.
-Available with a sewn footbox or with a zippered/drawstring footbox
-Proprietary Compound-Taper: slight weight reduction vs Half Taper by removing some material from the very extreme head end where it isn’t needed. This results in a very slight hourglass shape with the widest portion being the torso area (right where you need it)
-Neck-snap closure with elastic drawcord with dual exit points near your ears (keeps the cord out of your way)
-Included stuffsac (0.5oz-0.85 oz) and mesh storage bag
-Optional pad-attachment loops and kit. .52oz (15g)
-Optional adjustable side elastics. (elastic shockcord and cordlock on the quilt’s long sides to make sure it stays tucked)
-Made to order as well as in-stock options available.
-Made in the USA by Warbonnet

Got the long wide, 20deg with 2oz over fill. This quilt has over 3in of loft. i think i over bought because i tend to just camp in summer months i want to do a bike trip in Scotland soon and this extra worm quilt will be needed. Warbonet was excellent to work with and the finish on the quilt is absolutely perfect. Thanks

Warbonnet where have you been my whole camping life? First top quilt, went with the custom. If you’re spending that kind of money, go custom. 20° with all the add-ons except for more fill. Used it this weekend got down to below freezing but not in the 20’s. Very satisfied with the warmth. Color options are a bonus. 10/10 would buy again.
***Only rating 4 stars at this time since I have not gotten it down to 20°

I purchased the Superfly tarp from these guys about a year & half before I bought the Diamondback. I LOVED it so I figured the top quilt would be good too. This thing’s AMAZING. The fabrics are super soft & comfy and LIGHT. I knew getting a down quilt meant that it would loft a good bit after you pull it out of the bag but geez, this puffs up huge. Sooo lofty, soft and cozy. I got it in 20 degree model. I know I slept in it down to at least 16 but we think it was probably lower. I was still quite cozy and warm well below the temperature rating. And that Bushwhack Camo just sets the whole thing off with a gorgeous touch. If you want great lightweight gear that’s waaaay better than they advertise it to be, Warbonnet is among the best out there.

First some background:
This is my first quilt. I ordered a 20 degree short wide in 850fp with 1oz overstuff and a zipper footbox to use for my thru-hike of the Colorado Trail.
The good:
-Exceptionally warm. I knew the overstuff would help with warmth, but I had no issues staying warm on a very humid night right above freezing in the San Juans. The draft Collar and dynamic tension system worked great.
-Weight. I ordered my quilt in 15d and with an ounce of overstuff knowing both of these choices would add weight, but the quilt still came in at about 25oz which is much lighter than my previous sleeping bag. This certainly isn’t as light as a 1000fp 7d quilt would be, but for the price it is great.
-Overall design. This quilt is designed by people who know what they are doing. Every feature simply works.
-Customer service. The staff were very helpful in answering questions regarding sizing and other options. They were very transparent with lead times and they always responded promptly to any emails I sent.
The not so great:
-UL pad attachment system. The pad attachment system isn’t a bad design. My nitpick comes from the use of ribbon to loop onto the toggles. If you move around a lot and or don’t keep it well tensioned, they are likely to pop off. I believe that using a small loop of shock cord instead of ribbon would hold to the toggles much better.
-Neck drawcord location. The drawcords for the neck are located on either side of the quilt and when it is snapped together, they rest behind your head which is cumbersome to adjust and can get annoying depending on your pillow situation. I would have preferred one cord lock near the neck area either at the very front or off to one side so it is located in a more traditional location compared to a standard mummy bag.
-Footbox drawcord. Because of fabric bunching, a small hole remains when the footbox drawcord is fully sinched. Now Warbonnet has thought of this, and to their credit, they include a small pouch of down to use as a cork, but I found that this would pop out quite often, leaving my feet cold.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and the quilt performed exceptionally well on trail. Warbonnet makes a great product and I will not hesitate to come back for my next quilt

I have used the 0 degree in Colorado and Arizona as my ground sleeping bag. I went with some of the lightest materials as my philosophy is a heavy duty backpack with light gear inside. Outstanding quilt. My last outing was two nights in the Superstitions Wilderness in Arizona. Rained almost the whole second night and I neglected to use a tent. I had a tarp I borrowed from a friend and threw off and on me, but got soaked regardless. the quilt held amazing loft and was wet on the outside but super warm and cozy on the inside.

I just used my 30 degree top quilt in temps in the upper 20s. The only place I felt chilly was through my sleeping pad, and I usually find temperature ratings overly optimistic . I found the side elastics and the draft collar extremely effective. You won’t go wrong with a Diamondback quilt!

This is by far the finest top quilt I own. The versatility of the design, the quality of the materials, the craftsmanship and attention to detail, all top notch. I took it out for a test near freezing last night and the performance was absolutely solid. Warbonnet has been my go-to for lightweight hiking gear for years and this Diamondback top quilt is my new favorite piece of kit. Thank you all so much!!!

So light, so warm, such incredible workmanship. Just received my zero degree diamondback and it was well worth the wait. I’ve only slept out one night and it was too warm for the 20 degree night. The interior 10 D is so soft and I love the elastic sides and glad I opted for the collar. I’m never going back to sleeping bags and my next higher temp quilt will definitely be a diamondback.
